A healthy sex life has plenty of benefits. It helps to manage stress, it lowers the risk of prostate cancer, and there’s some evidence it can lower your risk of early death. A new U.K. Study is also showing that regular sex can keep the brain healthy. In the experiment, 6,800 adults between 50 and 89 performed data and cognitive tests, and it was found that while men and women with more frequent sexual activity improved their word recall, men showed an improved capacity for both word recall and number sequencing, and they also scored marginally higher on cognitive tests than the sexually active women. Study participants only needed to have had sex once in the last year to be labeled as someone who regularly has sex. |
