If you dread the winter months because the loss of daylight hours leaves you depressed, anxious, and lethargic, you may have Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Light box therapy is the most effective treatment, but there are some yoga practices that may also help. I recently spoke to yoga for depression expert Amy Weintraub about SAD and she offered the recommendations below. 

5 Yoga Poses for SAD

Amy Weintraub’s suggestions are based on stimulating the pineal gland in the brain where melatonin is produced, as well as working to counter the hunched posture we so often assume in winter. Do note that these poses will be most affective when done as a part of a consistent yoga practice
