Yesterday I participated in a conversation on HuffPost Live about premature ejaculation.  It was me, one of my favorite sex researchers Debra Herbenick, and the CEO of a pharmaceutical company that makes a delay spray for men.  While his product is apparently more subtle than the creams and ointments you buy in sex shops, it remains a trade of of feeling for function;  you last longer, but you feel less.

The question I tried to pose was the one I usually ask when speaking with people who feel they aren't lasting as long in sex as they would like:  is the sex you're having worth lasting longer for?  This week we take a little time for sex.  ~  Cory

How Long Does Sex Last?

It's a question I get a lot:

Here's a simple question: What’s the normal amount of time sex lasts for? You hear stories about people having sex all night, or all weekend, but how long should it be, or should it last?

How Long Should Sex Last?
So there's how long sex does last, and then there's how long it should last.  On the one hand this question might be answered by the culture and community you find yourself in that establishes norms around what real or great sex is.  On the other hand, you're the one (or ones) who should really answer this question.

When Does Sex Start?

One of the problems with timing sex is deciding when it starts and when it ends.

Making Sex Last Longer
No matter what kind of sex you're having, with which body parts, if you want the sex you're having to last longer, here's a place to start.
