From Fiona Haynes, your Guide to Low Fat Cooking
Homemade cookies and sweet treats make ideal gifts for friends, family, and neighbors. You can make pretty packages out of store-bought cookie boxes, reusable plastic containers, and cellophane bags; and don't forget to use colorful tissue paper, bows, and labels.

Chocolate Crinkles
The secret to the appearance of chocolate crinkles lies in the rolling of the dough in powdered sugar before baking. The cracks, or crinkles, appear like magic (at least my kids thought so) as the cookies expand in the oven. Make a batch of these soft, cake-like chocolate delights for your family, or make a batch to give as a gift from your kitchen.

Cranberry Orange Biscotti
Perfect for dipping in your coffee or cocoa, these crunchy, twice-baked cookies make a nice low fat sweet treat. If you don't like your biscotti too crunchy, then you can always bake them just the once.

Chocolate Rice Cereal Squares
These delightfully chewy chocolate rice cereal squares are a great low-fat way to get your fix of chocolate. With just a drizzle of chocolate on top, these no-bake cocoa treats are almost guilt free.

Chocolate Peppermint Meringue Cookies
If you're looking for an even lighter cookie option for the holidays, then these fat free Chocolate Peppermint Meringue Cookies will surely fit the bill. Crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, they make a tasty sweet and minty morsel.
